25 Best Florida Breweries

Florida's brewing history dates back to the 1896 opening of the Florida Brewing Company in Ybor City, which became the leading beer exporter to Cuba and produced more than 80,000 annual barrels at its peak. Though many brewers were closed as a result of Prohibition, the city remained one of the nation’s wettest cities throughout the event, supporting a number of illicit brewing operations that continued the state’s brewing legacy into the 20th century. Since the resurgence of independent craft breweries in the late 20th century, the state’s brewery population has doubled, offering a variety of nationally-known favorites, local staples, and up-and-coming offerings. These 26 breweries throughout the state offer public taprooms, to-go and growler sales, and a variety of public special events for beer lovers to enjoy.

Core taproom beers include the brewery’s Daytona Dirty Blonde Ale, Beach Hippie IPA, Paddle Wheeler Red Ale, Vacation Wheat American Wheat Ale, and 3 Wise Guys Coffee Porter. Red and white wines are also served at the pet-friendly taproom, which hosts events such as trivia nights and yoga groups.
